나는 화살을 쏘았네.
그 화살은 저 멀리로 날아가 버렸네.
하늘 높이 사라지는 그 자취
그 빠름을 미처 따를 수 없었네.

나는 노래를 불렀네.
내 노래는 숲 사이로 사라져 버렸네.
뛰어난 초인의 예리한 눈이라도
사라지는 그 노래를 잡지 못했네.

세월이 흐른 뒤 나는 보았네.
참나무 밑동에 꽂혀있는 그 화살을
무심히 퍼지는 목동의 피리가
가슴을 울리던 내 노래인 것을.
